Ok, so alot of people do ride bikes here. But there are over a million people in the city limits. My question is simply, how many people per capita ride bikes here in the Rose city? Threre is no doubt that Portland has superior infrastucture for cycling. You cant cross the street here without tripping over a bike lane! To boot, all of the mass transit systems, trains and busses acomidate bicycles. Easy to get on the train and take your bike, get off the train and keep riding. Fantastic.

Maybe it's not a pure numbers game. Maybe it's not the number of persons pedaling at any given moment, but the entire attitude of the city towards cycling as a means of transportation, as opposed to the way it is viewed other places, as simply a toy.

much less than a million residents in city limits (~500,000+-). Otherwise, I think you may be on to something.

portland might be the bicycle capital, but judging by the photo it's also the sani-let capital, lol
