Bike Polo Poll

Since it's getting dark pretty early now it would be nice to have a polo ball that lit up. I checked out a few different ones that will work and I'll front the cash to buy it but I want everyone's opinion on which is better. So, take the poll below and tell me which kind of balls you'd prefer to get your dirty hands on - ya' dirty s.o.b.'s.

View the following links to check out each ball and then vote below (fyi, the links will open in a new window or tab):

so one's a rubber bounce ball, one's a nerf ball, and one's a basketball? I vote that I'm going to try out some of my google-fu. I know I've seen what we need before, but I can't remember where...

I think this is what we need:

I also think that a new ball would be adequately visible.

That glow in the dark ball is a good price. One camera flash before each game should keep that sucker pretty bright. Isn't the current ball a mylec street hockey ball?

I'm with you on the glowing ball Chunk, but I kind of doubt a new ball will be much better than the old one when it's out of the light cloud we huddle under. We should go with something autolumenecient (I made that up, it's not really a word)

1. The current ball pretty much is a Mylec. These are pretty cheap at $2 each and they are pretty bright. Its not like we're playing in complete darkness- between a new bright ball and the lights at the school I think we'd be ok without the glowy one.
I would like to give the glow ball a shot though.
And ANY ball we get must be a real street hockey ball. Trust me, nothing else will work well.

Hi, this may sound strange but try taking a fat black marker to your regular ball. make it black. In NYC we use Franklin street hockey balls. and under the weak lighting our courts have at night we run into the same problem. tried other types of balls, they sucked. tried spraypainting the ball white. works OK but it scuffs off quick. I took a marker to a ball and it soaks into the plastic so it stays black and it sort of works in an absence-of-light sort of way. we couldn't make the ball bright enough so we made it really really dark.
try it, you may hate it. nothing is better than sunlight.
good luck

The Mylec glow in the dark street hockey ball seems about perfect in my opinion.

Thinking of this after they are closed for the night, so I'll mention it now because I will likely forget. Play-it-again sports over by smiths would have the mylec glowing street hockey ball. That is, if the Play-it-again sports of the western variety is as hockey crazy as the one's in Minnesota.

Stevo-
I'll drop by, but last year they didn't have any street hockey balls at all. I don't think anyone plays around here.
